James Cowper Kreston appoints new Audit and Assurance Director

James Cowper Kreston is pleased to announce the promotion of Sam Smith to Audit and Assurance Director, effective 1 October 2026.

This promotion reflects the firm's continued commitment to growth, leadership development and delivering exceptional service to clients across its diverse portfolio.

Sam joined James Cowper Kreston in 2017 as an Audit Apprentice in the firm's Newbury office. Having qualified with both AAT and ACCA, he relocated to the Oxford office in 2022 as an Audit and Assurance Manager. His promotion to Director reflects the significant contribution he has made to the firm, his technical expertise, and his commitment to delivering outstanding service to clients.

As Audit and Assurance Director, Sam works with a broad range of clients, from owner-managed businesses and high-growth companies to UK and multinational groups. He has particular expertise in the healthcare and technology sectors, helping clients navigate the opportunities and challenges associated with operating in fast-paced and evolving industries. Sam also supports groups through acquisitions, restructurings and other key stages of growth and transformation.
