Insolvency Services

Our restructuring and insolvency specialists are recognised as providing practical, level-headed and effective advice to businesses and individuals facing financial crisis. The advice will always be tailored to the specific circumstances but could include strategies for:

  • Improving cash flow
  • Growing markets
  • Increasing sales
  • Reducing costs
  • Business recovery
  • Turnaround plans
Companies

Both larger corporate entities and owner managed businesses (OMBs) currently face a difficult trading environment caused by a range of factors in both the macro and micro economic environment  including pricing pressures, increasing costs and customers who default or are slow to pay.

If a Turnaround solution is not viable we have helped companies in a variety of sectors restructure their debts by assisting with informal negotiations, more formal time to pay arrangements or proposals for a voluntary arrangement (CVA).

Should it be necessary we can also advise and act in formal insolvency procedures such as administration (including pre-pack administration, where appropriate) or liquidation.

By taking the proper professional advice you can more effectively manage a difficult situation which is, in all likelihood, unfamiliar.  Our partner led team can discuss the options with you, assist in evaluating them and guide you in implementing strategy.  In the first instance please contact one of our team who would be pleased to answer any questions that you have.

You can also view our Guide to corporate insolvency for further information about the various options that could be available.

Sole Trader and Individuals

Individuals, including sole traders, often face financial difficulties as a result of a business failure, relationship breakdown or redundancy.

We can help assess an individual’s financial position and, based on the circumstances.  There a numerous options including informal negotiation with creditors, Debt Relief Orders, Debt Management Plans, Voluntary Arrangements and Bankruptcy which all have benefits and pitfalls.

As licensed insolvency practitioners our advice is impartial and an initial discussion is free.

If you would like any more information or have any questions please contact one of our team, or follow our useful links to the government agencies or charities which may be able to help you. We have a Guide to Individual Voluntary Arrangements (IVAs) and Guide to Personal Insolvency which has more useful information.

Partnerships

Partners would normally be personally liable for the partnership debts on a joint and several basis which can create a complex situation of interlinking partnership and personal liabilities.

Limited Partnerships and Limited Liability Partnerships (LLPs) reduce the burden to a greater or lesser degree.

We can help you to understand how partnership and personal positions interact and devise an appropriate strategy to achieve the best result for all concerned.

If you would like to arrange a meeting to discuss any concerns you may have please contact one of our team.
