Leading geological instrument and services company Geotek Limited has acquired UK -based Spectra-Map Limited.
Spectra-Map provides detailed analyses of minerals using a range of spectroscopic techniques which allows them to not only to identify the key minerals but identify subtle chemical changes and derive accurate whole rock mineralogies.
Since 2019, Geotek and Spectra-Map Limited have been in partnership to integrate their innovative SpecCam VNIR and SWIR camera and mineralogical interpretation software (Minspec) onto Geotek Multi-Sensor Core Logger (MSCL) platforms. The integration of the software means that Geotek now offer the most comprehensive range of products and mobile core scanning services.
The acquisition now allows for continued investment in the technologies and applications for the future, enabling Geotek to continue to thrive at the forefront of the market.
Led by Brad McAvoy, the Corporate Finance team at James Cowper Kreston provided due diligence assistance to Geotek on the acquisition.
Brad McAvoy commented: “We were excited to work with Geotek on their acquisition. Spectra-Map’s technological capabilities are an ideal fit to support the growth strategy of Geotek. We look forward to working with Geotek again on future opportunities.”
