Members of the James Cowper Kreston team have joined the volunteering effort to support the local charity, New Beginnings Reading.

New Beginnings Reading is a homeless charity aiming to help prevent and relieve poverty and financial hardship in Reading and Greater Berkshire. They provide a variety of services to those in need including clothing, food and temporary accommodation.

Members of James Cowper Kreston were invited to help by Radiant World, one of the firm’s clients, who have funded the catering for two evenings. Following the success of these efforts, Radiant World have committed to helping the charity on a weekly basis for the foreseeable future. To provide cooked meals they have chosen Fink Street, a catering company that specifically redistributes 10% of its revenue to mental health charity Working Mind, making this effort a double whammy.

Robert Holland, Partner commented “I was incredibly pleased to be able to play a small part in something which is extremely important to the client, Radiant World. It made me realise that even with the restrictions in my life at the moment I’m indeed very fortunate”.

“New Beginnings is an excellent charity, providing a variety of services for those in need” says Meera Rajah, Partner. “Being able to help and support the charity  through the involvement of providing food  and other essentials donated by Radiant world and help for those in need gave me a true understanding of the variety of challenges people are facing”.
