James Cowper Kreston and apprentice Lizzie Uzzell have both been shortlisted for a top industry award in the annual Apprentice Graduation & Awards 2016.

Lizzie Uzzell has been shorted for ‘Apprentice of the Year’ and James Cowper Kreston has been shortlisted for ‘Medium Employer of the Year’.

The Apprentice Graduation & Awards are organized by the West Berkshire Training Consortium, an organization that works with employers and young people across the Thames Valley helping them take the first steps towards a rewarding career.

Lizzie joined the marketing and business development team of Thames Valley accountants and business advisers James Cowper Kreston in September 2014, and completed her apprenticeship in September 2015.  Her commitment to the role has seen her rapidly gain the trust and confidence of her colleagues, taking on ever-greater responsibility.

She is now a marketing assistant, responsible for James Cowper Kreston’s external events programme, including its popular Budget Breakfasts that attract over three hundred people.  The firm continues to support Lizzie’s training, as she studies for Chartered Institute of Marketing certificate.

James Cowper Kreston is shortlisted for ‘Medium Employer of the Year’ for its long term commitment to apprenticeships across the firm.

Robert Holland, Managing Partner at James Cowper Kreston said: “I would like to extend the whole firm’s congratulations to Lizzie.  She has very quickly made herself indispensable and a key part of the business development team.  She should be enormously proud of her achievements and she would be a deserving winner.”

The winners will be announced on 20 April.
