We worked with Nick Rogers and the James Cowper Kreston team, including Terry Goodsell and others, on the Eclipse Marketing Ltd sale to Stericycle in May and June 2013, and then subsequently on post-completion matters. Throughout it was a very effective and easily operated working relationship between us as advisers to the selling shareholders. There was a strong sense that James Cowper Kreston had provided good advice to the client throughout their long working relationship, culminating in assisting them through the sale negotiation from its early stages to completion. They supported and supplemented our efforts as the legal process gathered pace in the last stages of the transaction. Their detailed knowledge of the client?s affairs based on that long working relationship was invaluable on many points of detail, including on the tax advice in structuring the transaction. Their wise and sensible approach on key negotiation points was also important to the outcome, which was a very good one in financial terms for the clients. As a result it has thoroughly reinforced my sense that James Cowper Kreston have a strong offering across the board but particularly in their Corporate Finance team led by Nick Rogers, as evidenced by their recent transaction record, and I have no hesitation in recommending them generally to clients and in the context of the Deals Awards this year on this transaction.
