Case Study - Vector Design

Date: December 2010
Sector: Building Design
James Cowper Kreston Team: Nick Rogers

James Cowper Kreston Corporate Finance advised Oxford-based Vector Design Consultancy on a vendor-initiated management buyout with a funding package provided by The Royal Bank of Scotland.

JCKCF’s role was therefore to ensure the deal structure met the objectives of all shareholders whilst facilitating the continued development of Vector. As part of their work, JCKCF provided financial modelling and business planning support to the applications for the RBS finance facility.  JCKCF was able to fine tune the terms of the facility and ensured the deal structure was tax efficient.

Vector Design was established in 1995 by vendors Jeff Wood and Mark Turner. It employs 19 people and trades from premises in Stadhampton, near Oxford. The business provides building services design consultancy.

Both Wood and Turner continue to work with the business alongside the MBO team of Seb Fielding and Chris Jones, both whom have been with the business for around 10 years.
