Accountants & Business Advisers

Internships

If you're looking for a 12-month placement as part of your university degree, our Internship Programme offers a fantastic opportunity to explore a career in accountancy or tax while gaining valuable skills, experience, and earning a salary.

You’ll work alongside experienced professionals, contribute to real client projects, and develop both technical and professional skills in a supportive environment.

And the best part? Many of our interns go on to receive offers to join our Graduate Training Programme after completing their studies.

What you’ll do

We currently offer 12-month internships within our Business Tax team. Occasionally, opportunities may arise in other service lines depending on business needs.

During your internship in Business Tax, you’ll gain hands-on experience and develop a strong foundation in tax advisory work. You’ll learn to:

  • Understand how a company’s corporation tax return works and how it links to its financial accounts
  • Perform first reviews of basic corporation tax computations and returns
  • Assist directors and managers with a wide range of tax consultancy projects
  • Attend client meetings alongside a manager and act as a point of contact for some of the clients you support
  • Communicate confidently with HMRC over the phone

To enhance your technical knowledge, we’ll also support you in studying for the ATT Foundation Qualification in Business Tax, giving you deeper insight into the world of tax and a head start in your professional development.

What we’re looking for

To be eligible you’ll need to meet the following academic criteria:

  • Predicted minimum 2:2 in any degree subject, based on first year grades
  • At least 112 UCAS points from your top 3 A-level (or equivalent) grades (based on the 2017 Tariff; excluding General Studies, Critical Thinking & Extended Project)
  • Minimum Grade 4 in GCSE Maths and English Language

Your application won’t be assessed on academic qualifications alone. We’re also looking for individuals who demonstrate:

  • A keen interest in Business Tax
  • Enthusiasm to learn and grow professionally
  • A strong work ethic
  • An enquiring mind
  • Resilience and the ability to adapt to challenges
  • Effective communication skills
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • The right to work in the UK for the full duration of your internship
What we offer

Throughout your internship you will benefit from:

  • A competitive salary
  • 23 days annual leave, plus your birthday off to celebrate
  • Pension scheme to help you plan for the future
  • Flexible benefits scheme including Cycle to Work, dental insurance, life assurance and free flu jabs.
