Employment Tax Manager / Assistant Manager

Due to continued growth, we have a fantastic opportunity for a commercial thinking manager/assistant manager for our employment taxes team, ideally ATT and/or CTA qualified with the motivation to continue to develop their career with a forward-thinking, friendly and inclusive firm of accountants and business advisers.  You will have a passion for client service with a keen interest to further your own personal and professional development.

Responsibilities:

  • Pro-actively build and maintain robust client relationships.
  • Ensure timely and accurate tax advice for exceptional client service.
  • Offer specialist advice on all UK domestic employment tax facets, including PAYE, National Insurance, and benefits in kind -International expereince helpful
  • Handle everything from P11Ds and PSA returns to advising on benefits, salary sacrifice, CIS, IR35, and status assessments.
  • Assist with tax due diligence, identifing employment tax implications in target companies/groups 
  • Assist with share option schemes (note: JCK doesn't handle legal documentation), predominantly EMI.
  • Create and execute growth share strategies.
  • Aid in tax valuations for share options and growth shares.
  • Offer guidance on employment-related securities (ERS) and returns.
  • Stay updated on employment tax legislation and best practices.
  • Conduct training for the team, including coaching, mentoring and development of junior team members.
  • Identify and act on new business opportunities, primarily from the JCK client base.

Key requirements: 

  • ACA/ACCA/ATT/CTA qualified with the ability to demonstrate strong corporate tax technical skills, particularly with employment tax experience;
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels;
  • A team player – having the ability to work with the wider tax team and other members of the firm;
  • Strong technical skills, with experience accross diverse sectors and clients, with a keen eye for detail and continuous improvement.
