Join us for a two-part series on the current and future changes to the R&D tax relief scheme and how they may affect your business.

Research and Development (R&D) tax relief is a valuable incentive for businesses that invest in innovation and technology. It can reduce your corporation tax bill or provide you with a cash payment if you are loss-making.

However, the rules and rates of the scheme are changing from April 2023 and April 2024, and you need to be prepared for the impact on your R&D tax relief claims.

In this webinar series, our R&D tax experts Margaret and Tracy will guide you through the current and upcoming changes to the R&D tax relief scheme and how they may affect your eligibility, calculation and submission of claims.

The webinar series consists of two parts:

  • Part 1: The current rules (refresher) before they change! - This webinar will cover the basics of the R&D tax relief scheme, the difference between the RDEC and SME schemes, the qualifying criteria and expenditure, and the claim process and deadlines. It will also highlight some common pitfalls and mistakes to avoid when making R&D tax relief claims.

  • Part 2: Changes to be aware of now & coming up - make sure you are prepared - This webinar will focus on the changes announced in the Autumn Statement 2023 and enacted in the Finance Act 2024. This includes for accounting periods beginning on or after 1 April 2024. The merger of the RDEC and SME schemes from April 2024, the introduction of a higher rate of payable tax credit for loss-making R&D intensive SMEs from April 2023, and other changes. It will also discuss the implications of these changes for your R&D tax relief claims and how to plan ahead.
