With over 30 years of experience advising companies and their stakeholders on taxation, Sharon is an expert in her field. She is also a graduate of the University of Cambridge, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW) and a member of the UK Chartered Institute of Taxation (CTA).
Having gained extensive experience in Big 4 firms, including in Toronto Canada, Sharon moved to James Cowper Kreston in 2002.
Sharon is a founder member of the Kreston International Tax Group and presents on tax related matters to a variety of audiences.
One area of Sharon’s expertise lies in international tax matters, including BEPS, cross-border financing, supply chain management, tax structures, international M&A and transfer pricing. Having worked abroad herself she has a good understanding of the challenges of international business. She has helped a large number of overseas businesses establish UK operations and has also helped a number of UK companies set up international operations and collaborations, particularly in the US, Europe and increasingly China
Sharon has a varied portfolio of clients of all sizes, with a predominance in the technology sector. She has advised technology companies and their stakeholders on a wide range of taxation issues including; R&D Tax Credits, Patent Box, EIS, Share Schemes, M&A transactions and international expansion. She delights in helping clients develop tax strategies which are commercially right for their businesses.
